Rules / Mechanics of the event

The first world-competition ever to find out who can write the best shader in 60 minutes. Bring your laptop with you or compete remotely.

Remember this date: Wednesday 19th March 2014, 6:30 PM PT. Shadertoy will host the first Hackathon at 410 Townsend Street, San Francisco. We'll provide tables, chairs, awards, and beers! So you'll regret not attending it in person. It will be fun as well: we will propose a shader idea at the beginning of the Hackaton, and post it via our twitter account @shadertoy as well for remote participants, and will let people life code for one hour. We might stream the process in the big screen for everybody's joy. More details about the rules of the Hackathon will be posted in March here.

Schedule

6:15pm – Doors open
6:30pm – Class: From 0 to 100 in 30 minutes
7:00pm – Event starts
7:20pm – Start writing shaders based on an idea
8:20pm – End writing shaders
8:30pm – Voting Starts
8:45pm – Voting Ends and Awards!
9:00pm – End
